Đang xem: Method for making honey pomelo tea at home

Pomelo, one of my favorite fruits, is invited to my blog again! Previously, I have introduced ways to utilize the rind and the zest, which are usually discarded after finishing the pulps. I made grapefruit rind into Grapefruit skin candies and pomelo zest into Yuzu salt. Some of you asked – “What about the skins that hold the pulps?”. This time, I’m going to turn these membranes of a pomelo into a rose!

These membranes are as thin as butterfly wings, and the tiny transparency reminds me of flower petals. They are also born with the extra bonus of fruity fragrance. My pomelo has pinky pulps and membranes, which makes my flower into a pink rose – This could be a lovely gift idea for Valentine’s Day! Isn’t it so lovely and pretty? Surprise your lover with this handmade rose! But be careful – it smells so good that your lover might think it’s edible… (Mr He bit on my rose after sniffing it, apparently he thinks everything I make is edible lol).
Pomelo v.s. GrapefruitIn my Yuzu salt TikTok video, I got mixed up by the two fruits and some of you corrected me there. Wikipedia clarified that they are both citrus and pomelo is actually the ancestor of grapefruit – so they are very related! Pomelo also has more of a sweeter taste and less of a bitter taste comparing to grapefruit. And by the way, did you know pomelo is the largest citrus fruit in the family?

When you eat a pomelo, you can use its zest to make Yuzu salt, use its pith to make my “grapefruit” skin candies (yes, I called that a “grapefruit” while that was actually a pomelo), how about its membranes? We can use these pink and glowing membranes to make a rose-like flower, which is so beautiful, vibrant, and vivid, with a refreshing pomelo fragrance.
